Chemical Stability
PBO, with excellent chemical resistance, is extremely stable in solvents and alkaline solutions. Although the acid resistance of PBO is not very strong, its strength retention rate is still better than that of aromatic amide fibers under the same conditions.

Figure 8 Moisture and Heat Aging Performance of PBO Fiber

Moisture And Heat Resistance Performance
PBO fibers can be affected by moisture and heat aging, where the mechanical
properties of HM type fibers are better than AS type fibers. We recommend storing
and using this product in a dry, non high-temperature environment.
Figure 9 UV Aging Performance of PBO Fiber

UV Resistance Performance
The lighting environment has a significant adverse effect on the
strength of PBO fibers. We recommend to avoid long-term storage
and use in strong light environments.
Composite Materials

STARAMID®
size-stability, insulation, and high temperature resistance, making it an ideal reinforcing material
for resin based composite materials. At the same time, STARAMID®
protection and wave permeability, making it the optimal choice for preparing antenna covers.
Rubber Reinforcement

STARAMID®
heat resistance and erosion resistance properties,
has broad application prospect in the field of special rubber as a reinforcing material.
Firefighting Clothing And Heat-resistant Felt

STARAMID®
temperature among commercial organic fibers, making it suitable for protective
clothing and heat-resistant felt in special high-temperature fields.
Consumer Electronics

PBO fiber has excellent dielectric, mechanical and impact-resistance properties, so this product
can be widely used as a functional and structural integrated material in the field of communication
and electronics.
Building Reinforcement

PBO fiber has strong chemical resistance and stability, which can show high strength retention rate
in alkaline environments. After the fiber surface is protofibrilized, its adhesion is enhanced in cement
medium, making it an ideal reinforcement material for buildings and bridges.

Other Applications
PBO fiber is widely used as a reinforcing core in special optical cables due to its ultra-high specific strength;
The wear-resistance and flame-retardancy of PBO fiber make PBO suitable in extreme sports protective equipment
such as racing and skateboarding; The ultra-high strength and excellent resistance to high and low temperatures
endow PBO fibers with important application prospects in other fields.
